Data Removal

The City and the Bike gives you full control over your data. You can remove individual submissions while keeping your account, or delete your entire account and all associated data.

How to remove data without deleting your account

You can delete individual photos and submissions at any time:

1. Open the The City and the Bike app on your Android device.
2. Navigate to the photo you want to remove.
3. Tap the delete icon on the photo.
4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

The photo, its caption, tags, and QR code association are permanently removed from our servers. Your account, username, and remaining submissions are unaffected. Your leaderboard score is updated to reflect the removal.

How to delete your account

1. Open the The City and the Bike app on your Android device.
2. Tap the menu icon to open the navigation drawer.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately from our servers.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Account information — your username, email address, and password hash.
• Photos — every photo you uploaded.
• Submissions — all captions, tags, and QR code associations.
• Scores — your leaderboard and scoring data.

What data is retained

No personal data is retained after account deletion. All of the data listed above is permanently erased from our servers with no additional retention period.

Need help?

If you are unable to delete your account through the app, you can request deletion by emailing thecityandthebike@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 3 business days.
